4Excellent but one major drawback
By wb
I've owned and sat in this chair for the last 10 years while being self employed at home, all day in front of the computer. Based on the picture, the Concorde is unchanged since I bought it.I purchased it because it was the most comfortable of all expensive ergonomic chairs that I tried, including to name a few off the top of my head, ones by Bodybuilt and Herman Miller (Aeron). Thank goodness I did not go with a chair that uses memory foam...this foam has aged very well, memory foam wouldn't have if its anything like my mf mattress/toppers. After 10 years of fulltime+ use, I could probably use a new foam seat (they are removeable) since it has gotten a bit soft, but that's it. The leather is still in perfect shape.Pros:Extremely comfortable sitting for very long hoursSeat tilt is adjustable/lockable in different positions (via arm button)Seat tilt tension is adjustable via nob under the seatHydrolic back tilt is adjustable (via arm button)Back height is adjustable (lift and lock, lift further to release)Arm width is adjustable at sliding mounts (allen wrench)Seat height is adjustable via arm button (iirc, Global offers a larger seat post for tall people, must be installed at outset because replacing it would be very difficult if not impossible due to how it presses tightly into the metal base)Excellent back supportVery durable and extremely well builtLeather is beautiful, premium lasting qualityCons:THE ARMS!The arms contain the controls for numerous adjustments, and are covered with plastic, even where the arms rest. There is literally NO foam padding in these arms, and the plastic used in this particular area have only a tiny bit of give. If I didn't mod the arm rests with 1/2" spongy foam (using foam keyboard wrist rests), they would have been impossible to use when in front of the computer for long durations of time imo, as I made these necessary modifications within a week of originally receiving the chair to avoid sore spots on arms/elbows. I suspect being on the telephone for long hours would also be difficult on the elbows if leaning on the chair arms.In SUMMARY, once I modded the arms I was extremely satisfied and still am. It was a bit bizarre that I spent this much for a chair and had to do this, but the end result is what counted and it was worth every penny. Global currently has a Presidential version that appears to have arm padding, covered in leather. My back also desperately needed proper support and this chair has taken care of me here. There is also a 'Pulsor' massage version, which has an on/off button on one arm rest that controls 8 vibrating motors, 6 in the back and two in the seat. This is the version that I bought. Its a neat 'bell/whistle' but I haven't really used it much as it has always been a bit distracting while trying to work (the hand control for the massage feature has various strength and area concentration selections, typical of the massage pads made by homedics). Two motors stopped working after 5 years, and the nicad battery stopped taking a charge after about 5 years, but I was able to use a common 12v adapter plug where the rechargeable battery plugs in to power the message feature.About the wheels, yes they roll very easy on hard floors. At the time of purchase I was told Global had wheel options for hard floors and they were made of a softer plastic where the wheel meets the floor surface, but never looked into it beyond that and can not verify if they do.Lastly, I bought this with a Global Limited Lifetime Warranty. Emphasis on 'Limited'...Global covers the Concorde chair fabric for 3 years, the mechanisms for 5 years, and the electrical (massage mechanisms) are warranted for 2 years. See Global's website for link to full details.

5Office Chair
By Jan M. Robson
This chair is really pricey, but it is probably the most comfortable office chair I have ever owned or sat in. I am still trying different positions for even more comfort. This is the first chair I purchased in which all of the linkage for adjustments are internal in the chair and are controlled by buttons, either within the arms or under the chair itself. There are no external arms or linkage to contend with, which really adds to the style of the chair. This chair sits on a hard surface chair mat. It rolls extremely easy, almost too easy. I need to look into a set of chair rollers or wheels that are meant to be on a hard surface. If I needed another office chair, this one would be the one I go after to buy.

I own one of these chairs and have for many years. Let me tell you the word "LIMITED" lifetime warranty is an understatement. The seat has worn out 3 times, now they want $393.00 for a seat cushion, it Velcro's on & weighs maybe 2 lbs. it nothing. Which is probably why it keeps wearing out. One person only sits in this chair ever. The seat went, the seat support springs & mesh went bad, the shroud underneath fell off, the arm plate fell off, now the back cushion is about to go. The only thing actually covered by the lifetime warranty is the heavy steel base that holds the wheels on, which of course never breaks , even on the $49.99 cheapo's from Office depot. $1300.00 for this chair would be ok if it in fact would not fall apart, I would not recommend buying this one folks.
