Meh. I want to give it 2.5 stars.
By Kyle E. Kneisl
So, I was a bit disappointed. I'll give you the short version first:Short version: If this item were 10% worse, I would have sent it back. As it is I am slightly nervous with my son sitting on it, but I think it'll just barely manage.Long version: I knew I was going to be displeased when I saw the instructions. It's a text-free, pictures-only, set of pictorial instructions that leave out key assembly points. If you're not a reasonably-mechanical type, there is a very real danger you will assemble this chair in an unsafe fashion and not even know it until your kid cracks his face open when the chair falls apart. For example, it's up to you to realize that certain parts are intended to be jammed together (metal-to-plastic) very strongly to assure a fit; the diagrams merely show an arrow saying to put part A into hole B, which you can do, but without the ferocious jamming into the hole, it does not hold together. The parts are pretty much all plastic--only the absolute minimum of parts are metal (screws, and the core of the support strut). The whole bottom, wheels, back, wheel spokes, etc, that's all plastic. Definitely this is for children's weight. My wife said the chair "seemed displeased" when I sat on it. If your kid is, say, middle school age, you probably want to pass. It does raise and lower quite dramatically--I feel like there's maybe 12 inches of play; at its maximum height, it will be more than tall enough for a taller desk. At its minimum height, it's quite low to the ground. Anyway, it's assembled, one of the 90 degree angles is more like 85 degrees, but whatever. My kid is on it, it looks sturdy enough (barely) to handle the situation, and after admonishing my son several times that the chair is definitely questionable and not to abuse the chair or spin around in it or otherwise **** around in the chair, I think it'll do.But it was close. If this chair was only SLIGHTLY worse or slightly more poorly constructed, it would have gone back to kumisjojon. Definitely questionable. I do *NOT*, say again, do *NOT* feel like I got a decent value by saving a few bucks. If I could do it over, I would spend $30 more and get something far less borderline. I feel like the chair is more than $30 worse than a chair that would be $30 more expensive.Bottom line: It's serviceable, but really, it's more a value trap than a value play. If money is an issue, it'll do. But if it's not an issue, I suggest you explore other options that this fine online retailer offers.Hope this was helpful.

I was skeptical
By ladyday1007
After reading several reviews regarding receiving damaged merchandise, I was skeptical. But I ordered the chair anyway because I wanted a pink chair. You can imagine my anxiety when I received a box with the words "DAMAGED" scribbled on the side. Upon inspecting the chair initially I did not see any flaws...until I set the chair up. A quarter of an inch of the right side of the chair back was cracked. I didn't feel like taking the chair apart, repackaging and shipping, so I used some epoxy glue and sealed the chair in shrink wrap to hold the pieces in place. The next day I unwrapped the chair and you could not tell so I am good to go. I am unsure if I can recommend the seller based on the fact that several customer complained of cracked chairs, then I received one. I would not want to take a chance and order something else or another chair and have the damage be unrepairable (is that a word?). I don't feel like I should have to repair "new" merchandise.

Desk Chair
By suzieq
I bought this chair for my 9 year old grand daughter for her birthday to go with the desk I had bought her. Her favorite color is blue which is why I bought the blue chair. It is perfect for her and she loves it. It is a very nice chair and quite easy to put together, but I don't think it would be very good for an adult as it is not a heavy duty chair. But for a child, it is perfect.
