I am 6'4" and 300#. The chair comes with two height possibilities. The taller of the two was what I installed and when the chair is all the way down, my feet barely touch the floor. This is really built for a big person.

The chair I received was apparently meant to be assembled without the foot ring. One set of instructions showed how to assemble the basic chair. Separate instructions showed how to assemble the foot ring. But there were no instructions to show how to integrate the two. The plastic gasket that lines the socket of the foot ring would not fit properly over the hydraulic or pneumatic stem that came with the foot ring (and which I assume is meant to replace the shorter stem of the regular chair configuration). Maybe this chair was really not designed to accommodate the foot ring or maybe the gasket was wrong ; anyhow it was impossible to assemble properly with the foot ring.So I assembled it as just an office chair rather than a tall drafting chair. I will be returning the foot ring and long hydraulic stem, and asking for a refund of the price difference between the regular chair and the drafting stool version.Other notes: for a Big/Tall item, this chair doesn't have a very high back. It's fine for me at 5 ft 8 but my 6 ft. 4" partner won't be able to lean back and rest his neck at all.Very firm, very thick padding is to be appreciated and should result in a durable chair.Additional note: After less than a week of use, this chair has started to drop down slightly each time I sit on it. I weigh less than 225 pounds so a chair designed to hold 400 should not be doing this. I think maybe this chair was sent with the wrong hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder unit. I am dropping the rating to a single star because this is ridiculous.
